And Murata who is a drifting instructor and D-1 Street Series competitor. All are former top competitors in the D-1 World Championship series.
From the American side will be team leader and local boy Steve O from Wailua, Hawaii. Rounding out the team is former import model and drag racer Verena Mei who also grew up in Aiea. Ms. Mei had a cameo in the movie Tokyo Drift and she is the top female drifter in the US. The other American is Ernie Fixmer. Ernie is one of a handful of non-Japanese drifters that received a D-1 competition license and is one of the best in the US series. Their program will be set to music, concert lighting and pyrotechnics. The exhibition team will make 3 demonstrations throughout the night on February 3rd.
In between each exhibition round will be the competition program. The top 16 drifters will then pair up Head to Head or referred to as tandem competition. Only one driver from each pairing will move on till the final 2 drifters will compete for the title. These top 2 drivers will then be given an automatic invitation to compete against the top 2 drivers from each of the upcoming rounds across the mainland, Canada and China to compete in the world finals to be held later this year in Hawaii. The winner at the finals will be crowned Xtreme Drift World Tour World Champion of 2007.
